Necessity is the Mother of Invention: The Story Behind Altitude Water’s Disaster Relief Innovations

Necessity is the Mother of Invention: The Story Behind Altitude Water’s Disaster Relief Innovations

At Altitude Water, we pride ourselves on constantly evolving to meet the challenges we face in disaster relief and beyond. This is the story of how necessity and hands-on experience inspired the design of our current Disaster Relief Trailer and two innovative new products.

Centralizing Our Progress

In 2025, one of our primary goals is to consolidate our media into a single, accessible location. While working on this project, I rediscovered videos that capture Altitude Water’s journey. These clips vividly showcase how we operate, why we lead in the air-to-water industry, and how we’ve expanded into water purification. They also illustrate the lessons we’ve learned from being on the ground during disasters.

Listening and Learning on the Ground

You’ve heard the saying, “Necessity is the mother of invention.” Nowhere is this more evident than in our disaster relief work. Over the years, we’ve learned that the best way to understand the needs of disaster-affected communities is by actively listening to residents and first responders.

During our time in Maui helping with wildfire recovery, the Altitude team not only built a Disaster Relief Trailer for Noah’s Arc but also:

  1. Attended FEMA meetings to hear community concerns.
  2. Built solar arrays to support the local power grid.
  3. Installed reverse osmosis systems to deliver clean water.
  4. Distributed Brita water filters to those in need.
  5. Participated in disaster response workshops.

While it’s easy to focus on immediate relief, each disaster offers a unique opportunity to learn and improve. Whether it’s attending late-night community meetings or troubleshooting on the fly, we see every challenge as a chance to refine our approach. We know the team would rather get some sleep after a long day working on relief but we also knew we could learn a lot listening to different perspectives.

Adapting Through Experience

Each disaster presents its own complexities, and every interaction adds to our understanding. For instance, during the Hurricane Helene response and subsequent deployments in both Florida and North Carolina, we realized two critical factors:

  1. Communication is essential. Reliable internet connectivity can make or break relief efforts.
  2. Communities need more than just pure drinking water. Large quantities of water for cleaning, cooking, and hygiene are equally critical.

Innovating Through Collaboration

In January 2024, during our third trip to assist with the Maui wildfires, we attended a solar conference in Waikiki hosted by our partner, Footprint Project. This workshop was transformative. It brought together first responders, residents, and nonprofits to evaluate disaster response strategies, prompting us to reimagine our Disaster Relief Trailers.

This post highlights Altitude Water’s commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and community impact. Together, we can meet the challenges of tomorrow. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to grow and evolve.

The feedback and insights gathered during the workshop, combined with our hands-on experience, led to two significant upgrades for our trailers:

1.Enhanced Communication Capabilities: We added Starlink satellite connectivity to provide reliable internet access, simplifying communication without incurring unnecessary costs.

2.Advanced Water Purification Systems: Recognizing the need for water beyond drinking, we developed a new ozone purification system. This addition allows our trailers to purify external water sources for uses like showering, cleaning, and cooking.

These upgrades debuted in our South Florida Disaster Relief Trailer in April 2024 and have since set a new standard for our disaster response.

Expanding Our Vision

The lessons learned and innovations developed during these deployments have propelled us beyond being solely an air-to-water company. Today, Altitude Water is a diversified water solutions provider, meeting the varied needs of communities in crisis.

As we reflect on the journey that led to these advancements, it’s clear that looking back has been essential to moving forward. Each disaster, every meeting, and all the stories shared have shaped who we are—and who we strive to become.

A Future of Innovation

Our commitment to innovation doesn’t stop here. The two new products inspired by these efforts are nearly ready for market. They represent our dedication to evolving alongside the challenges we face and ensuring we’re always ready to serve communities in need.

At Altitude Water, necessity isn’t just the mother of invention—it’s the foundation of our mission to provide clean, safe water wherever it’s needed most.

The Perfect Storm

Where did February go?  So busy preparing for the Perfect Storm
we didn’t get to Feb’s blog, so here she is as the news likes to say:
‘LATE BREAKING’

Sorry, brave and loyal readers.  We apologize for the delay but after you read this blog we believe you will understand. We feel so blessed we’re able to predict this Perfect Storm brewing on the horizon. We just hoped our company would survive and be there to help people through this powerful mixture of events (it’s not easy being so early in the game as a disruptive technology). These events are occurring at just the right time in our growth cycle(we would have preferred earlier, but as with all weather events, these things are tough to predict, and we must trust God’s timing and He provided us the right partners at the perfect time). Blessed to say we have survived and are STRONGER than ever.

What is a Perfect Storm?  Did you see the movie, the 2000 release with George Clooney depicting the 1991 Halloween Nor’easter?  The film combined three meteorological events to create the “Perfect Storm.”

The Collins dictionary defines Perfect Storm best as “an unusual combination of events or things that produce an unusually bad or powerful result.”

Our Perfect Storm focuses on the powerful result (not the bad although the frequency of weather storms does have a bad result for the residents whose pain we try to ease) as there have been three events that have created the PERFECT STORM (and of course we will use it to make the best water).

Event #1- Science and the Media have caught up to the water pollution problem AND the plastic problem.

This month the news was awash with tons of stories on both issues.  The recent articles regarding the contamination of our aquifers and the percentages of our municipal systems have been shocking, even to us.  The fact is the EPA has not put new contaminates on the testing list or a standard for testing for them or a safe limit, which is hugely concerning.

Let me give you a perfect example of this that I discussed at a FEMA/Army Corp of Engineers community meeting in Kula Maui when I was there in October.

We all know the growth of EV and the most prominent element in the batteries is lithium.  They were discussing the air testing that was done after the fires and the high content of lithium that prevented them from allowing people back to their homes and the community wanted the data.

As the lithium came from the EVs being burned,  I of course asked what the water tests showed regarding lithium and was told that they didn’t test for it in the water.  When I inquired why not if it was in the air, they responded, “The EPA hasn’t given us testing parameters or procedures to test for lithium in the water.”

WHAT, NO TESTS?

Excuse me, I said to them. You know it’s in the air and you prevented people from going back into their homes because of it, yet you haven’t tested for it in the water because the EPA hasn’t given you water testing guidelines?   That absurd, I thought. You can’t make this stuff up.  I posted live videos on our FB page of us attending the meetings.

DON’T BELIEVE ME?

Here is a link to the EPA’s Technical Data Sheet for lithium- https://www.epa.gov/system/files/documents/2023-11/ucmr5-technical-fact-sheet-lithium-in-drinking-water.pdf

Look at UCMR 5 as it states the following-

“SDWA (Safe Drinking Water Act) requires that every five years the EPA publish monitoring requirements for priority contaminants that may be present in drinking water and do not have EPA drinking water regulatory standards. UCMR 5, which includes lithium, spans 2022 – 2026, with sample collection by public water systems (PWSs) from 2023 – 2025 and the completion of data reporting in 2026 (EPA, 2021a; EPA, 2021b). Learn more about UCMR 5.”

It states right there those chemicals in UCMR 5 “do not have EPA drinking water regulatory standards.”  In other words, we are monitoring the situation every 5 years and we will get back to you.  Man, that doesn’t exactly make me feel better.  How about you?

Now we have all seen the new studies released this month regarding microplastics in bottled water.  Here is a quote from the study conducted by the NIH, “The researchers found that, on average, a liter of bottled water included about 240,000 tiny pieces of plastic. About 90% of these plastic fragments were Nano plastics. This total was 10 to 100 times more plastic particles than seen in earlier studies, which mostly focused on larger microplastics.” https://www.nih.gov/news-events/nih-research-matters/plastic-particles-bottled-water#:~:text=The%20researchers%20found%20that%2C%20on,mostly%20focused%20on%20larger%20microplastics.

We have stated this for a decade (and been called fear mongers), but I know that if I put a case of water in the sun for a week the TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) readings will go through the roof.  I could maintain the seal on the water bottle but the number of particles inside would increase.  While a TDS reading doesn’t tell you what the particle is that’s increasing, but what else could it be?  The bottle is sealed. The only thing in contact with the water is the plastic bottle.  Anyone remember Sheryl Crow saying she got breast cancer from drinking unopened hot bottled water in her car that she put back in the fridge?  The bottled water industry and the media lambasted her for that statement.

Microplastics affect the cells in your body.  Water will only hydrate you if it crosses the cell membrane.  If it doesn’t, all it does is pass through your body.  It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand tiny particles of plastic might block this process or severely damage your cells.  Also, what is plastic made of? Petroleum. Yea that sure seems healthy, doesn’t it?

We stand vindicated for bringing this up a decade ago and now the public has the facts.  That’s a pretty powerful Event #1 right there.

Event #2- The increased efficiency and Government Subsidies for Alternate Energy has made it a viable alternative to Municipal Electrical Utilities’ and the Government Subsidies for adding solar and AWGs more economical.

I have been blessed over the past two months to be interviewed by numerous publications and radio shows discussing the Environment and our technology (Environmental Impact with Environmentalist icon Nancy Pearlman https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcY93xxPS4I&t=32s  and Authority Magazine naming me a Social Impact Hero http://tinyurl.com/Authority-Magazine  to name two) and I also have an article being published in Energies Magazine March issue that discusses this exactly (we will post when its published this month).

Getting tax credits for buying solar and knowing you have a set capital cost that can be amortized over 7 years makes AWG technology attractive and more economical than in past years.  It also allows you to control two of the most important commodities for living a safe, peaceful and healthy life–water and electricity.

I will not go into detail in this blog as the article will come out soon and I am honored and blessed that Energies felt it was worth publishing, but we have finally secured great solar partners to co-market our products.  The partnership with NUE Use Energy that was released last month and our working and testing relationship with the Non-profit Footprint.org has put us in a position that no other AWG company has.

We have tested our products together and now offer solar solutions to our customers on our website.  We are about to unveil our solar page as well.  Only being in this industry for the past 15 years has given us the reputation and trust for other companies in the alternate energy industry to want to partner with us. We are also finishing our South Florida Disaster Relief Trailer with our AWGs run on solar.  Thank you, Mind Army, for having the vision to support this cause and LGNDS for making a huge donation to protect South Florida during a disaster.

Event #3- Civil unrest and lingering fear over what is happening in the world

War in Israel and Gaza. In Ukraine. China and the US at odds with balloons being floated over our Country.  Extremists in BOTH parties (not being political but the word moderate seems to have left the dictionary) seemingly unable to find any common ground.  I don’t think it’s an overstatement to say the world is in a mess right now.

Now we wish this wasn’t the case and we are not trying to feed into the fear, but we have seen a larger group of people that want to secure their access to safe water and electricity. We have always believed, with groundwater pollution and other aspects affecting our planet, that it is a great idea to secure your own safe water supply.  It’s the reason why we have invested so much money in building the best AWGs on the market.  But we wish there wasn’t all this unrest to help prove our point.

It does make sense.  With unrest and wars not being fought the traditional way (now with unmanned drones, bioweapons, threats of EMP, farming industry being controlled, and farmland being bought up by the rich, and experiencing supply problems with COVID etc) have caused even the most ardent city dwellers looking to move to the country and become sustainable and resilient.

The prepper movement is no longer fringe.  It’s mainstream. Heck, we have a new hit TV show Modern Homestead that follows two Californians – Janna Breslin and Evan DeMarco that move to Tennessee to learn how to Homestead https://youtu.be/wFB4hDoMI1M?si=uW1XOPY0vuueviKK

Three events all move together at one point in time to create the Perfect Storm.  Sorry we missed the February Blog, but we have been busy giving people the right tools to be resilient to weather this storm.

Have a blessed and safe March everyone and Lord willing we will be back in April to update you on our progress.

If this blog has piqued your interest, we would love for you to become a Water Warrior and join the movement to give every human the right to access pure safe drinking water.

So, for the good of the planet, your loved ones and yourself, I urge you to become a . . .

Water Warrior!

Water Programs for Africa

Maka Project

We have made great strides in getting the foundation built.

  1. The first T200 has been built and tested and is currently packaged to ship. This will be integrated with the solar and tested in March/April.
  2. The solar bid was published and awarded to African Solar. We are happy as we worked with African Solar in previous trips to Cameroon.
  3. The Hub is almost completed. We love the fact that Jean Felicien Gacha was the project manager and incorporated the help of the village to build.  It just proves our statement that it takes a Village to effectuate change and #teamworkmakesthedreamwork.  We would like to thank construction extraordinaire Hillaire for the great job he is doing on the Hub

Disaster Relief Trailer for South Florida Update

We no longer need help in funding this trailer as Mind Army received a donation to cover the cost and logistics of the trailer.  We are now in build mode.

This trailer will be state of the art and there is nothing like it.  It will not only provide water but these other needs in a Disaster situation:

  1. Electric- The trailer will have solar purchased from our new strategic partner New Use Energy. The design of the fold up panels should be completed shortly.  We will have enough Alternative Energy from the sun to run the water machine but also to charge phones.
  2. Communications- We added a communications tower that will enabler people access to Wi-Fi and cellular service if the disaster decimates those services (which we saw happen in Maui-see we learn)
  3. A small generator to charge batteries in case of lack of sun or to meet the need.
  4. Solar tents create energy and provide shelter to those getting water.

We have an aggressive timeline for completing the trailer.  We have shared a booth at the Disaster Relief Show at the Miami Beach Convention Center with NUE Use energy and hope to have it ready for a meet and greet.

Maui Update

We recently returned from a short trip to Oahu and Maui in January are hearts are full of gratitude that our technology is being part of the solution for those in need.

Noah’s Arc Disaster Relief Trailer is being used at the Pu’uhunoa O Nene site in Kuhului Maui for Project Vision.  It is meeting the water needs as well as filling up Water Tanks to ship to 2 additional sites in Lahaina.  Having 3 sites receiving water from our machines is awesome and what we envisioned when we got involved in this project.

We also are working with other groups on solar/water trailers.  Stay tuned as we want to be involved in helping those that are homeless after the fires took their homes and get them out of the hotels and into a living space they can call their home.

What a Difference a Year Makes

This time last year there was a cloud of fear of the unknown hovering Altitude Water.

What was going to happen to us when our parent company Altitude International Holdings was in financial difficulty.

They had attempted to purchase the Club Med Property in Port St. Lucie and were notified they were in default of a loan on which Altitude Water was collateral. Not only were we not being funded properly, but now we didn’t know who would own the company.

While stressful for management, it also took its toll on employees. In a manufacturing facility, it is soon obvious when funding stops. Buying parts and production halts. While we had enough parts to start building the T12s, we lacked cases. Reading the SEC filings of the public company, we know there was trouble.

Then everything changed. And now that’s all behind us as we start 2024 with self-confidence, exhilaration and a renewed spirit of growth. We also start with two of our longest-serving employees now becoming owners. So, we would first like to thank Alvaro DaSilva and Jaymie Ditzler for all their hard work in building the BEST AWG on the market. And we congratulate them on becoming what they’ve earned the right to become—owners!

As 2024 starts we have excitement and anticipation that all our hard work will yield huge benefits for our team and investors. We have numerous projects in various stages, but most of the testing is complete. We have completed upgrades, have machines making more water than ever before, joined forces with new Nonprofits, and added new products to our arsenal. Here is a quick recap of the areas on which we will focus our efforts and the projects they entail.

  1. Hawaii- We developed for Noah’s Arc a Disaster Relief Trailer that is in operation in Maui which is providing water to those displaced by the wildfires. It is currently located at a homeless center in Kuhului providing water for the staff and residents in addition to having tanks filled and driven to Lahaina.
    1. Returning to Maui at the end of January 2023 to work on a solar/water trailer currently being built there.
    2. Attending a FootprintProject.Org event on Oahu
    3. Meeting with other Non-profits who need water in their project. The State of Hawaii is not granting new water use permits so new construction will be looking at AWGs as a solution.
  2. Maka Project Cameroon- This project is moving along nicely, and we are scheduled to ship the first unit Feb 1.
    1. The Groundbreaking ceremony was completed, and the Water Hub is being built by Jean-Felicien Gacha Foundation who is also using this project to train villagers on construction skills.
    2. The solar bid was put out for the project, and we were pleased that African Solar won the bid as we having been working with them since our first visit to Cameroon in April 2022.
  1. New Products going on website- Altitude Water will be releasing three new products on the website starting in January:
    1. The first will be a solar generator and panels to run the T-12 off grid. We will be bundling these with our units for bigger discounts.
    1. The PsS10565A purification box was designed and built by purification specialist Alvaro DaSilva. This product is now completed after successful testing and upgrades to the PLC Board for greater flexibility. Will be on the website soon.
    1. Disaster Relief Solar/Water trailer- The specs are being completed and built and should be ready for posting soon.
  1. Ecuador- Our distributor Nubios has completed the testing of the T-12 with the Universidad de Catolica Guayaquil and are completing the design for installing a Water Hub on one of the buildings. A demonstration video has been completed on the project.
    1. 1 T-100 will sit on the roof.
    2. 1 PsS10565A purification box will be on the roof.
    3. 3 T-12 Dispensers will be at the entrance to the building on the ground floor.
  2. Strategic working relationship with FootprintProject.org – (FPP) We have been blessed to continue working with this Nonprofit and developing a resilient and sustainable package for Disasters and water security.
    1. We picked up two trailers for FootprintProject.org to donate to the cause and to work on integrating our water machines. In dealing with Nonprofits it’s all hands on deck and we help where we can.
      1. We sent one of our workers in Louisianna to Willie Nelson’s Farm to pick up a solar trailer that was used at a festival.
      2. Picked up a solar trailer that was used after Hurricane Idilia in Florida outside Tampa
    1. Visited Audubon Gentilly Charter School where FPP is implementing its Beehive concept which we think is everything that you could ask for and will soon be adding water to this project.

There is so much more but time is a valuable commodity right now with everything going on. Many more updates will be coming soon as well as radio interviews, new customers, and the unveiling of the Solar/Water Trailer and a new way to handle disasters. We will be active in recruiting Water Warriors to our team. We will integrate them into some of our projects. Some will be volunteers, and others will be paying jobs. Stay tuned and we would like to thank you and God for helping us through 2023 and having the company now in the charge of its rightful owners.

Building the Foundation on a Rock

We accomplished a lot on this trip and completed the Noah’s Arc Disaster Relief Trailer.  It’s first event was at Harvestfest at Kula Elementary on Saturday November 18, 2023 to great reviews.  It was even requested to stay for the short Thanksgiving week to provide water and education to the kids as well as be available for the Community Meeting with FEMA and Army Corp of Engineers (we did live feeds from those events).

During operations at the school, we produced over 160 gallons of water in an 11-hour period with the temperature hovering around 60 degrees all night but 70%-100% RH (yes it rained some that night).  That equates to 349 gallons in a 24-hour period.  This was accomplished at approximately 6 gallons of diesel or $30 (diesel is expensive in Maui) for a cost of $.1875/gallon. Again, the results of this test were live fed on FB and stored on the drive.

I. Maui Trip- Nov 15-29- Here are the things we accomplished.

  1. Replace water tank on Disaster Relief Trailer (DRT)
  2. Installed Generator.
  3. Got lights and brakes on trailer.
  4. Hooked up the PsS 10565 (our newest product- the Ozone Purification Box) to the water system on OW Ranch and the 250-gallon tank. (videos available- did not take a picture)
  5. Deliver DRT unit to Kula. This was all accomplished Thur/Fri, November 16-17
  6. Harvestfest on Saturday and additional testing at Kula Sunday-Wed.
  7. Mon-Wed dispense water to kids and teach on water.
  8. Numerous other meetings with people provided from OW Ranch- Ryan (Generator), Charlie (Electrician), James (Trailer expert)
  9. Meetings with:
    1. Pastor Corey on distribution and solar trailers- he is on board.
    2. Marv- He built the trailer the DRT is on and the second solar trailer in progress.
    3. Donny- Building Tiny Houses. This was accomplished Sat-Thursday (Thanksgiving)
  1. We visited numerous sites that need electricity and water and met with the nonprofits and operators. All want more info on the Solar/Water trailer. Some are waiting on the grants to be approved for Footprintproject.org and the 10 T12s and 4 T150s they submitted. Pastor Corey installed solar panels and a Tesla Wall
  2. Built prototype and painted 1st solar trailer.
    1. 16 panels
    2. 6 kWh
    3. Comes with either 1 T150 or 3 T12s.
  1. Handed off all parts and manuals to Noah’s Arc
  2. Developed presentation for Hubs and shelters we visited.
  3. Followed up with all potential distributors.

II. Ecuador – In all of the excitement of our first DRT hitting the road we ignored everything going on in Ecuador.

We are drawing up documents to make NUBIOS E.C. our exclusive distributor in Ecuador.   Carlos from EyC our metal fabricator bought three (3) T12 machines and traveled to Ecuador to set up distribution.  Here is what he accomplished:

  1. Got the Universidad Catolica de Santiago de Guayaquil (https://www.ucsg.edu.ec/) to run tests on the T12- The water production came back higher then we represent in our owners manual. We now have the third party data of testing of our T12.
  2. Set up presentations with a staff of PHD’s responsible for different aspects of the Universidad.
  3. Developing water hubs for implementation at the school and completing a 3D rendition of it.
  4. Purchasing 2 T-150s and 4 T12s with dispensing

III. South Florida DRT- Working with Mind Army on 2nd

  1. Building the T300 now with one for Maka project

IV.Additional work being done

After meeting with the homeless shelter across from the airport on Hana Highway Pastor Corey installed a Tesla solar wall to power their Medical Trailer. He reviewed Altitude’s report and suggestions on water with the Operations manager on the site and they are excited to work with us. The medical trailer is running 100% on solar and we are working with the company to include AWGs in the trailers.

For A Time Such As This

Wow. A Sunday to wash the truck and catch up with all of the paperwork that has piled up after our trips. It’s also a time to update everyone on the progress Altitude Water has made in the last month. This update will incorporate pictures of the different projects we have been involved with.

The title relates to a Bible quote from Esther (4:14) It really seems to relate to what has occurred with Altitude Water. With over 14 years’ experience in the AWG industry, it just feels that our experience was developed for a time such as this:

 A time when….

  1.  There have been incredible advances in Alternate Energy technology which strengthens the argument for using our technology. As our Water Queen Cecilia Rodhe says, “No Pipe No Plug” Boom Water
  2. The public is educated to the risk of pollutants in our groundwater and aquifers.
  3. There is extensive money available for rebuilds that use “Green Technology” with the Build Back Better program.
  4. There is a need to build back in Hawaii
  5. The relationships we have invested in regarding people and distributors are properly situated in area of recent disasters (Maui and Louisianna- not to mention Delray Beach just has a boil water alert.
  6. The advances we have made with our technology have made our machines the Best in Show and better for integration with Alternate Energy.
  7. New products that use our “purification technology” that have a need for larger quantities of water.

Here is an overview of the past month. Yes, it was packed full of trips and projects. Honestly felt like three months looking back and all we accomplished.

Nashvile Trip-October 4-8, 2023

Amy Grant – Barefoot Republic.

The Nonprofit Camp that does Barefoot at the Farm every summer held its Annual Fundraiser at Amy’s Farm. This is a time that the farm closes down for winter (less events and it gets cold where the T150 is not efficient for making water so we winterize it). Our distributor Russel Yarema usually does this event but this year his back would not permit the trip (feel better Russell) so our COO went.

We love to support this camp in both time and as well as financially when we are able. This was one of those years where we believed it was important to fund the mission. We winterized the machine and met with Dan and Matt (Amy’s son) on the purification box Alvaro developed. Dan is building a house on the farm and may use the purification box to help keep his water safe. We got to watch Amy perform her new song, “Trees We’ll Never See”.  What a blessing. Love this song. See attached videos of our COO enjoying the live performance. What a blessing.

Phil Gray

Phil Gray meeting- Our COO got to spend a day with the Gray family and see the new building they just completed and plan the future growth of Altitude Water. We would like to personally thank the whole Gray Family for their belief in our technology and being excited over what is going on at Altitude.

Celebrated Founders Day with them at their McDonalds and see the finished product of Phil’s Legacy Building (what we call it. No one builds like this anymore). Discussed a Disaster Relief Trailer for Nashville and other patent issues. It was a celebration of what we achieved and planning for the next stage of growth and Altitude Water needs. Stay tuned.

Hawaii Trip- October 9-23, 2023

Wow just wow. Remember before the Nashville Trip we were preparing the T300 (previously the T200 but after upgrades and testing we changed the name to better reflect water production with the same electrical draw) for shipment to Maui. After difficult circumstances the machines landed on October 5th and Alvaro flew back from Italy to make the flight on Monday for Maui.

Noah’s Arc

Noah’s Arc greeted us and the Noah family and the guys went to the Church to stay and work on the trailer and the machines and Ceclia and our COO went to educate and help.

Disaster Relief Trailer

Building the trailer came with new challenges as the trailers and water tankswere all gone on the island. Pastor Corey from Maui Church of Christ foundus one and the guys extended trip to 8 days to get the final trailer complete. The trailer that was donated (such blessings) did not have wood and below isthe transformation to the completed product with the purification box thatcan purify 1,000 gallons of water in additional storage tanks included eventhough it was not budgeted (more blessings this time from Altitude as well asthe added week of expenses). During this build-there were many humanitarian excursions from Noah’s Arc and Altitude Water and evaluation of the need for the water-the guys took their only day off on Sunday to set up a solar R/O system donated by Stable Road Foundation (a donor for the Disaster Relief/Water for the World trailer), we delivered water filters to hubs and helped build the structure for the solar panels for Footprintproject.org donated solar grid. John Hart also donated his time and Pastor Corey was their but all in videos.

At the RO project with Noah’s Arc and Stable Road Foundation we also weeded Taro ponds and build a rock wall to dam up the river and create a swimming hole for the kids. This area gets water diverted and needs Water Buffalos delivered for water.

Footprintproject.org

Another example of “for a time such as this” Altitude Water received an order on-line before leaving for New Orleans. It was purchased by Footprintproject.org who was providing solar grids for Disaster Relief. We have been looking for a partner like this.

We also found out they would be in Maui at the same time and we could meet and look at places for collaboration. They have 18 systems installed on the island and we assisted in the start up at one of them

Schools and Sustainability Projects

Both Noah’s Arc and Altitude Water met at various locations that could benefit from our technology. Kula elementary currently is trucking in pallets of bottled water and Eddie Rodriguez’s sustainability project for tiny houses looks like perfect locations. A T300 saves 11,200 plastic bottles a week. While down to work on humanitarian efforts Jaymie got a call from the DOD on the machine in Oahu and it being moved to a different base on Oahu for  testing. We delivered filters and upgraded the software and assisted with the testing.

God Stories and things that make what we do and work so hard worth it.

Donny volunteered from Pittsburg cut fire breaks for 2 weeks and asked for a break. He chooses to sift through the ashes for wedding rings. After 6 hours boom. Kids at the Art Therapy Class talked about fear and drew pictures of fears they have overcome.

Our COO got to preach at Maui Church of Christ.

We received huge donations from people or groups that wish to be anonymous but helped because they believe in our technology. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Getting paid for volunteer work in fresh fruit- we love this.

Corporate Recap

October 23-29th– October isn’t over! Our COO is back on the road tomorrow heading to New Orleans delivering a T150 and a T12 to Footprintproject.org (Russell is making this trip and also setting up meetings in Municipalities), the COO is currently testing our T150 with new technology on it as he writes this update, the T12 line is cranking out machines and we rehired one of our great assemblers, we are building new production lines in the new warehouse, we are negotiating and going through the DD process with an investment banking firm, we are raising some bridge money from individual investors/friends of the company, building the T300 for the Cameroon and Maka project, and finally looking for new employees: Assemblers and HVAC techs

  1. Project manager/Administrative Assistant
  2. Part time- social media coordinator.

Conclusion

We are looking forward to November and heading back to Hawaii. Don’t forget the Maka project as we did in the update. The shelter has been designed by Jean Felicien Gacha, cases for T300 have been redesigned to incorporate the new technology for solar and to speak with the batteries for power, D/C compressors are next. Look at the board for the T300 now that the redesign has been completed.

The military was blown away as their machine was one of the first T200s and we have done ALL of the upgrades in the old case design causing us to do some not so pretty wiring. We are ready now for “Such a time as this”.

Update for the week of September 5

Happy Labor Day everyone.  We at Altitude Water labored as it didn’t say Rest Day and we have people in Maui waiting for our trailer.

At Altitude Water, we understand that every day is a chance to work hard and serve others, which is why we’ve been tirelessly working on various projects to make a positive impact in the world.

Maui Disaster Relief Trailer

First and foremost, our team has been diligently working on the Maui Disaster Relief Trailer. Our T-200 machines are currently in full production, with the compressors set to arrive this Wednesday. We have experts on hand who are working on installing the board and running wires. By next week, we hope to have the machine on the test line, and soon thereafter, ready to provide clean water to those who need it most.

Meanwhile, our T-12 and Commercial Machine line (T-100 and T-200) has undergone some incredible changes! We’ve reconfigured our assembly line and the metal fabricator has been working on producing cases. Our skilled team is now working hard on putting together the T-12s and you can check out our social media accounts to follow along.

Of course, logistics is always a challenge in disaster relief situations, and Maui is no exception. Unfortunately, there are several underlying issues that we witnessed firsthand during our time there in January. Despite this, our team is determined to make a positive impact and provide leadership where there seems to be a lack of it. We’re currently working on shipping and distribution logistics, as well as coordinating with local leaders to ensure our mission is successful.

We have meetings regarding the shipping from mainland to the islands as well as the location for distribution of water.  Cecilia (Noah’s Arc) and Paolo (Na Mea ‘Ike ‘Ia) have been working tirelessly on the ground coordinating our mission. More news to come

Maka

Last but not least, we had a very productive project management meeting this week, during which we outlined our goals for the rest of the year. One of our main objectives is to ensure that the people of Maka have access to clean water as soon as possible. We’re currently re-working a well that was previously drilled in the village and coordinating rainwater harvest with our ozone purification system. Additionally, our first machine with the Variable Speed Compressors and new software is currently being built and tested. We hope to have the machine arrive in Maka in early November and are excited to see the impact it will make.

In other exciting news, we’ve received our first donor commitment for the Disaster Relief Trailer in South Florida from FHE Health of Pompano Beach! We’re grateful for the opportunity to expand our partnership. It is our hope and prayer that we get a trailer funded and built before a disaster strikes. Thank you for the great meeting Sherief and we look forward to expanding our partnership and thank you Zappy and Mind Army for the great introduction.

Overall, it’s been a productive and fulfilling week at Altitude Water, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Update Monday August 28, 2023

So with all of the activity regarding Nonprofits we believe it is important for transparency to give weekly updates on our projects and what the goals are to achieve.

Transparency is essential in keeping you up-to-date with our latest projects and goals. We want to recognize our suppliers who are lending a hand in our Disaster Relief Efforts. This will also enable us to mention and showcase various suppliers who are going the extra mile to support the Disaster relief Efforts.

Most are just doing it out of their hearts and not looking for recognition, but we think they should be recognized for their efforts.

Remember our foundational motto for these projects- #teamworkmakesthedreamwork.   Our team believes that teamwork makes the dream work! We’ve learned that in our 14 years of service.

One example of such generosity is Corey from Coco Markets who reached out to us without prompting.

“Hi-we’d like to make Altitude water a sponsor of  CocoMarket on 9/3 and make social media post about the trailer you are looking to build for Maui. Can you please give me a high- resolution logo and more information about the initiative?”

For three months, we’ve been involved with the Delray Community of Health and Wellness, and she wanted to make Altitude Water a sponsor of CocoMarket on September 3rd. Additionally, they wanted to make a social media post about our Maui trailer initiative and support us in any way possible. Their genuine act of kindness without expecting recognition deserves appreciation, and we thank them for it.

As an organization, we strive to contribute towards creating a better tomorrow, which includes environmental conservation. Through our efforts in water conservation and reducing plastic bottle waste, we work towards purifying the purest Altitude Water through our Atmospheric Water Generators.

Unprompted.  Didn’t need to call and ask.  She heard and reached out as they want to be part of the movement. Thank you, Corey and thank you Noah’s arc as I was able to tell her the Maui Trailer is fully funded and we are now working on a trailer closer to home- the South Florida Disaster Relief Trailer (I can’t wait to put a sponsor’s name on that). That got her even more excited. Us too!!

We are elated to unveil our grand strategy – to reinforce the Cajun Army. This transcendental idea of how God orchestrates events, we hold in high esteem. Awe-inspiring connections that came to life in 2008 are being rejuvenated, it’s nothing but divine intervention. The rejuvenation of a vital bond with the Cajun Navy was only attainable by venturing off to Maui.

This is very surreal and how we believe God is working in all of this.  Relationships we developed back in 2008 are being resurrected. Who needed to go to Maui to restablish a relationship with the Cajun Navy.

Altitude Water who has its roots in Denham Springs needed to go to Maui to reopen our history.  Our founders started in the AWG business there in 2008. Southern University did our first test on what is now the T-100 (called the Chameleon 60 then).

Here is a blog post from September 2011 (https://suagcenter.blogspot.com/2011/09/su-ag-center-researchers-evaluate.html) .  We have watched the Cajun Navy develop since Katrina into an International Disaster Relief organization. This journey gets more interesting every day but we mostly focus on helping meet the needs of Maui as quickly as possible.  These past relationships are helping make that happen.

So let’s start the update

  1. Noah’s Arc raised all of the funds in three days and will be released on Wednesday.
  2. Altitude Water already ordered the necessary parts and have begun the build. It is anticipated that it will be 10 days to complete and test. The T-200, 2 T-12 dispensers, and all of the hookups for the trailer will be manufacturer at the Altitude Factory. All of the upgrades that were implemented during the testing for Maka project are being incorporated in this system.
  3. New panels have been punched and at Powder Coater.
  4. The plan is to fly the machine down commercially or privately (working on that now). The trailer, tanks, and generator are all being sourced and purchased on Maui.
  5. Our team (owners Alvaro and Jaymie) will fly down to construct the trailer. We anticipate three days for the trailer to be complete.
  6. The assembly team will return to the factory and pass the training and deployment team in the sky as they will arrive on island from Altitude to train Na Mea Ike Ia and Noah’s Arc team as well as Cajun Navy to use the trailer and will meet with other disaster relief teams as well as State Representatives.

While Altitude Water is a vendor and selling the trailer for the disaster relief efforts, Altitude Water has agreed to donate the funds for all travel of the teams to and from Maui as well as all of the time for training an on-site installation for this project.  It is our donation to the cause.

Through our efforts in water conservation and reducing plastic bottle waste, we work towards purifying the purest Altitude Water through our Atmospheric Water Generators.

We are building the team every day.  People are offering to assist in social media posts, design work, messaging.

We also have been able to order the cases for the second disaster relief trailer we are building for our yet unnamed sponsor in South Florida.

Let’s work together towards a brighter future. Stay tuned.
